Was supposed to be easy (Day 34)

Well, yesterday I blogged that today was going to be easy. I turned out to be very wrong. We walked through torrential rain from 7am until 2pm straight. It was a slog. Heavy rain, lots of wind. After the first hour both Amy and I stopped jumping over puddles and just walked through them as there was no point.
I interpreted todays weather as 3 possible scenarios. They are:
The Camino is shedding tears for April 1st cohort. Particularly me of course.
The Camino is testing us one last time.
The Camino had enough of us and telling us to leave.
We walked with Merel, Sergio and Michele which made the 7 hrs go by one at a time. We gave 3 long breaks in drenched shoes and clothes but laughed about the ordeal. I came up with the above 3 descriptions and so far everyone is voting for the 3rd option as most likely.
I think Amy had the best time from the 5 of us that walked together.
There were no possibilities of photos today. I was in survival mode with the exception of our first coffee break and a photo I took with Sergio.
I am keeping todays blog as short. Need to take care of my feet as I aggravated all my blisters due to walking in a puddle inside my shoes.
Tomorrow, we will all meet at 5k before the end and enter Santiago together. I am hoping for rain to conceal my tears from others.
Kms today: 23.5 kms
Kms total: 809 kms
Steps total: 342k Amy, 1101k Ahmet
Let the tears flow, Ahmet!! A true cleanse in every sense!!
Does he respond?
I’m so proud of you for doing this amazing journey! Now I can brag to all my friends that my dad did an amazing hike mostly by himself. I can’t wait for you to come back home!
Wow! It will be a memorable ending. It’s even more of an adventure and not just walking in paradise. I’m sure the country needed some rain after soooo many nice days. I prefer the rain is tears of joy from the Camino. It’s happy that you made it!
You're almost there! I'm not the one who took more than 1M steps on the Camino, but thanks to your blog, I had a chance to share your journey.
Best of luck for the last day. We'll be thinking of you, Amy and your fellow pellegrinos.
