…at least as I know it to be. Today, I walked from beautiful Ponferrada to another mountain town Villafranca del Bierzo. Just as I arrived to Villafranca look what I found on the side of the road at exactly 1:13pm. So happy that she is with me and we will finish the Camino just the way we started. Together!

Today, I hiked about 25kms on easy terrain and arrived to Villafranca after experiencing my first Camino rain. Luckily, my old time pal, Arcteryx rain jacket that has protected me valiantly from wind until today stepped up once more and kept me dry and warm.

Villafranca del Bierzo is beautiful, nestled on the mountains with a medieval church that I plan to visit with Amy this afternoon. Today, I also saw for the first time grape leaves on vines reminding me that it has almost been a month since I started back in Saint Jean Pied de Port.

After lunch Amy and I will walk around and get some chocolate croissants (the main dietary supplement of this pelegrino).

Tonight we have a big group dinner and expecting about 15 or so pilgrims that we have met and shared this journey with. Can’t wait for them to meet my beautiful Amy.

Today was another day of spectacular views.

Kms today: 25 kms

Kms total: 637 kms

Steps total: 158.4k Amy, 862k Ahmet
